A taste of Sydney Beer Week

For the past few weeks our team have been working on our first brewery project. Not much we can share at this point but, thanks to Ben Janeczko and the folks at Sydney Beer Week, we got a chance to conduct some tasty research recently.

 

For the past few weeks our team have been working on our first brewery project. Not much we can share at this point but, thanks to Ben Janeczko and the folks at Sydney Beer Week, we got a chance to conduct some tasty research recently.

This is the first year Ben and the new team at SBW are running the show and the result couldn’t be more promising. A great new venue for the kick-off event at the Maritime Museum of Sydney, dozens of breweries from all over the world and over 130 events over the course of 10 days make SBW a bright star in the Sydney calendar.

As with every event of this type, we looked at these breweries from a dual angle: the product AND the brand. We collected some examples of great collateral (coasters are still king) and had interesting chats with folks from Batch, Bucket Boys, Hoppin Mad and Goose Island, among others.

A special shoutout goes to the ladies behind Sparkke, a brewery and winery looking to distupt a male-dominated industry with a brand underpinned by fairness, inclusion and social equity.

Taste aside (and beer is very much a matter of taste), it’s clear events like SBW have moved away from the fringe and become a massive draw for a growing demographic of people who know, appreciate and love talking (and sipping) beer.
